Adult scorpion, Fairfax California (20 miles north of San Francisco) - Uroctonus mordax
Fairfax, Fairfax County, California, USA
March 10, 2018
Size: 2.5 inches
Thank you endlessly for your help identifying this - I'm highly concerned for my family's safety as this was the second scorpion we happened across in our home within 12 hours.
I imagine there must be (many?) more.

7 AM my wife walked into the bathroom to find this scorpion sitting against the edge of the bathroom wall against the molding.
My 2 year old child was closer than any camera so - yes I did neutralize the threat before snapping any photos.
Apology to the creature and to you for asking you to assist IDing a partially squashed specimen.

Not dangerous at all
A sting from this species or any other in that part of California, and most of the state, would only produce a mild edema and pain lasting only a short while, even to small children.
