Diving beetle - Dytiscus

Diving beetle - Dytiscus
Dowagiac, Cass County, Michigan, USA
February 28, 2018
Size: 26 mm
2 diving beetles found in minnow trap. One with ridges and one smooth (see third picture). Wondering if they are the same species. Smooth shelled one was attacking the slightly larger ridged shelled one.
