Moth or Leafhopper? - Metcalfa pruinosa

Moth or Leafhopper? - Metcalfa pruinosa
Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, USA
August 26, 2007
Size: 1/4-3/8"
Is this a moth or leafhopper?

Moved

Probably a Spittlebug
I always think that leafhoppers without "hoppers" are Spittlebugs (Cercopidae).

Actually, it is a hopper
see Metcalfa pruinosa - I think it's a match

Well that's just sneaky!
It has some nerve, and evidently concealed hoppers. Undercover.
Oh well, there goes an imperfectly good rule of thumb.
