Gray crinkly moth - Prionoxystus macmurtrei

Gray crinkly moth - Prionoxystus macmurtrei
Maplesville, Chilton County, Alabama, USA
March 19, 2018
This was a brown and gray crinkly appearing moth with wings that appeared transparent. He had a width of about 1.5 cm and a length of about 3.5 cm. His basal area formed an oval with black on top, white in the middle, and brown on the bottom. He had two faint small gray orbicular spots about median line area. His abdomen extended beyond his outer margin and seemed to be curled to the right on this specimen. He looks somewhat like Hodges 2694 – Prionoxystus macmurtrei – Little Carpenterworm Moth.
