Moth - Tortrix or Filatima
Victoria, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada
March 20, 2018
Found in my garage on Summit Hill in Victoria BC. I thought it might be a Tortrix at first but the solid dark patch covering most of the back but not the sides resembles the Gelichid moth Filatima epulatrix.

Another possibility....
Unfortunately, I don't think it's going to be possible to get a definitive ID. The photo isn't very clear, plus a lot of these micros are notoriously variable even within species.
However, we did get one similar to yours in Port Alberni, in March 2012 which was confirmed as Epinotia emarginana by DNA analysis:

Ours is the only specimen of this species that I've seen with this colour combination so I would be hesitant to make a call on yours!
