Brown moth with fury head - Orthosia garmani

Brown moth with fury head - Orthosia garmani
Maplesville, Chilton County, Alabama, USA
February 15, 2018
This was a brown moth that had a very large and fury darker brown head. His median and PM lines were dark brown, but did not extend all the way to the costal borders. The area just above his median line was a lighter brown, above which there paralleled another faint dark brown line. He had two dark brown orbicular rings very close to the costal ends of the PM line. His subterminal line was a series of random-looking black dots/dashes, below which there was a lighter brown all the way to the outer border which had light tan fringe. His forewings appeared to have a dusting of white powder.
