No auto-comment ...

I'm curious as to why I did not receive a notification when my images were finally moved out of ID request and why there is no auto-generated comment identifying who moved them?

Always testing new opportunities on BugGuide
Have to see if new options are good or not.

Sorry, could have been us
We were doing a lot of moving from ID Request at the time and seem to remember thinking that you already knew this was Lepidoptera based on your title so you didn't need to get an email saying that you said it was Lepidoptera, but must confess that we don't actually know if it was us or what we were thinking if it was. Sorry.

Okay, you got me...
How do you move an image without generating a comment or email? I didn't know that was possible.

Ghostly Moves
Some special people, have this ability or are still testing the repercussions of using it. I asked about this issue a while ago, but I don't feel qualified enough to advise anyone about using it or not using.
The Aim: This reduces the amount of (somewhat unnecessary) email notifications for simple and obvious moves or moves that are already qualified by an expert, but it can potentially lead to some confusion, as noted above.
Also, some images are moved down to the species level without any evidence that they were ever placed in ID Request (or order/family level) by the person submitting them. This could (maybe) lead someone else to question the validity of the placement.
This seems to be an interesting give-and-take time saving situation, but I wonder if it is worth loosing the traceable history. On the other hand, not many users have complained or noticed, as yet. (...over a year later)

That's what I figured...
...after seeing the Balabans' comment above. Personally, I think each move should be documented so everyone can see where an image was and who moved it to its current location. But maybe that's just me. At least now I know that if a specimen is resting at a certain level--and I can't figure out how it got there--most likely it was moved by someone who knew what he/she was doing. :)

Not just you ...
"Personally, I think each move should be documented so everyone can see where an image was and who moved it to its current location."

I agree. :)
