Bay Center , Pacific County, Washington, USA
Size: Wingspan ±10 mm

Locality: Coastal SW Washington State at the edge of Willapa Bay geo:lat=46 37.273 geo:lon=-123 56.814

Both Cosmopterix scirpicola 1494 and C. fernaldella 1496 are indicated by the DNA test suggesting they are synonyms. C. fernaldella was indicated more likely, if indeed they represent two different species plus more northern. Not a common flying NA genus. One reason might be a very narrow window of flight time as indicated at this locality. The fifteen specimens from here were trapped on about five days over the ten year period. All but one was flying in 2014 during two short periods of only a couple days in duration. This included eleven specimens in June 2014 on the 6th and 7th. One specimen was captured in 2015 on June 5th.
