Beetle shape is cylindrical with long thorax. Head and thorax are black. Elytra and abdomen are red. Found in Athey Nature Area, a floodplain wooded area with cedar elm, American elm, huisache, bois d'arc, green ash, honey locust, McCartny rose, and Chinese tallow.
