Pipevine swallowtail. - Battus philenor - Male
Gatlinburgh (Great Smoky Mountains National Park), Sevier County, Tennessee, USA
October 5, 2007
I found this pipevine swallowtail yesterday. It looked like either it was newly metamorphosed, or it was dying. I tend to think it was dying, because its wings were not in great condition. It still made for some nice pictures, though.
