Always wanted to put an ID on this nice image! Spent some time with the key with a specimen of my own and nailed down the traits a bit better - the short propodeal spines and squarish head along with the longitudinal striations clearly visible on the pronotum point to this species. Nice find! I collected a fair bit of them both of the last times I was in the LRGV, so it seems pretty common locally but not found any northwards.
