Firefly larvae. There were lots of them glowing on the lawn by the lake. Any idea what species?

glow worm
I went out to take out the trashand saw this small glowing in the thick grass and as I picked it up thinking maybe one of my sons toys or at least a peice of one it moved! I did not know that glow worms were in my area. I am amazed...

firefly larva-Photuris
This one looks like a Photuris larva of some sort. They are much wider and "substantial" than Pyractomena. Also their ventral side looks quite different. Habitat sounds perfect for many firefly species. Lynn

Habitat suggests a couple genera, at least! Try Pyractomena for starters....
