You're right. I should have noticed that! (I had T. hispidum at the same location and didn't think twice). Want me to move it to P. imberbiculus? Thanks for the correction. Moved from Tetramorium hispidum.

 
Sounds good to me
P. imberbiculus is the only species in range for Texas, and the petiole looks too rough for it to be any of the other recorded US species.

I don't think this is a Tetramorium
It looks more like Pogonomyrmex imberbiculus, one of the tiny Ephebomyrmex pogos that look almost nothing like the other large species here.
