April 9, 2018
Was on blade of grass and jumped down on forest ground cover. After moving a bit the small pest hitched a ride.

Handheld and manually focused using Canon EOS7D II, 1.4x TC II, stacked 25mm and 12mm Extension tubes, EF 100 2.8L IS Macro and a MR14EX Ring Lite.

Longhorn Beetle
Note, the head is not covered by the pronotum, which rules out all of the Fireflies. This looks like a type of Flower Longhorn Beetle, most likely Lycochoriolaus lateralis. (eastern) The little ones are probably mites.

Not a firefly

What say you?

Again Thanks

Paul

OK
I will take a look at it now.
