Would someone please identify...I found this insect just sitting on a leaf on my crepe myrtle bush.

Crane fly.
Hi, Julia, welcome to Bugguide. This insect is very likely a crane fly of some sort, family Tipulidae. You will want Chen Young to look and tell you for sure. Chen runs a great website on "Crane Flies of Pennsylvania," and visits here fairly often to give identifications.

 
Overall this female crane fly
looks like a Gnophomyia tristissima , except this one has white spots on the abdominal segments. - Chen
