insects emerged from eastern red cedar tree cones
Lake Meyer Park, Winneshiek County, Iowa, USA
April 11, 2018
Size: 2mm to 3mm
Collected some eastern red cedar tree cones on 1/9/2018 and put them in a plastic container. Noticed that these insects had emerged by 4/11/2018. Interested in what they might be.

Well, the one in the middle ...
... is a Eurytomidae (male). The other two look like Eulophidae (subfamily Tetrastichinae), but these images don't allow for 100% confidence in IDing them.

Thanks for your help, Bob! I will try to find a way to get more detailed photos of these tiny insects in the future.

Parasitoids…
We understand that these are very small, but if you could possibly provide close-ups of each one of these, individually, it might be helpful in the IDs.

See reference here.

Thanks for your input Ross! I don't have a lens which will let me get more magnification, but I will check around and see if I can produce some larger images.
