Bibio femoratus ? - Bibio

Bibio femoratus ? - Bibio
California/Wawa, St. Mary's County, Maryland, USA
April 15, 2018
I found this bug at the local gas station. I think it's a Black Corsair (Melanolestes picipes). Can you confirm? Thanks!

Moved from Arthropods.

I'm always learning something. After digging into Bibio on MBP and BugGuide, it looks like a view of the coxae might be necessary for an ID? Not sure if I can relocate the individual but others might be present. I don't htink there are too many possibilities in Maryland but maybe Bibio femoratus?

Probably Bibio femoratus
Probably Bibio femoratus

What part of the anatomy would clinch the ID? Coxa, trochanter and femur?

The dark form of Bibio vestitus has bases of legs (coxa and trochanter) red. Bibio femoratus has those segments black.
