insect found on avocado tree BR, La, US - Typocerus zebra

insect found on avocado tree BR, La, US - Typocerus zebra
South Sherwood, Baton Rouge, East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana, USA
April 20, 2018
Size: 0.25 inch
I found this bug very still on the top of my avocado tree sapling. this tree recently had a leaf infested with aphids which i removed by hand.

it is an insect bc it has 6 legs. it appears to be winged. possibly a type of beetle?

i am curious as to its ecological significance to the tree. whether it is a predator to watch over the tree or trying to tale away from it.

Tough angle, but...
Quite sure this is Typocerus zebra.

Thank you Eric Chapman! I think that ID is spot on; side note are you the son of Bonnie? I have a 3rd cousin by your name.

Nope.
Chapman was my father's adopted name. I have no blood relations with most people named Chapman.
