April 21, 2018: John van der Linden was showing Fleur and I how to look for Thrypticus larvae

in the stems of Virginia wild rye, Elymus virginicus
These galls/cocoons were found at one node of one plant. I can't say 100% that the plant is Wild Rye as the grass in the area where I was looking was mostly eaten back to short. This one stem was uneaten.
