Rapid flying dark Butterfly would land in leaf litter to rest. Somewhat worn wings - looks similar to Juvenal's Duskywing in my guide.

Did you mean to place this butterfly in Erynnis juvenalis juvenalis? If so what distinquishes it from Erynnis juvenalis?

Almost all E. juvenalis are subspecies juvenalis
except those in the SW U.S. I just noticed with your request that subspecies were listed in BugGuide so I will move to subspecies in the future.

Thanks for the info.
I noticed that the BF I captured a picture of has an unbroken line of white blocks starting with the outside tip of the forewing where other pictures of the species have a break after 4 blocks for 1 section and then start again with a line of blocks to the inside. Probably just a function of how the wings are worn ...
