Sometimes called baseboard spider. Also could be named stucco spider. Eats lots of ants and some flies.

Worldwide
O. navus is cosmopolitan. It is common in Europe,where researchers have made some good biological studies.
Based on Kaston's "How to Know the Spiders" (admittedly outdated), the black margin of the carapace identifies this as O. navus. (He has the incorrect O. annulipes).
