aquatic beetle - Dineutus ciliatus near Fork Union, Fluvana County, Virginia, USA May 3, 2018
A couple of these aquatic beetles were swimming atop the water of a swift-flowing stream in a meander section. I watched them for some time, and they seemed to maneuver so that they could remain in the same area of the stream. The beetle was difficult to photograph while it was executing those maneuvers, remaining in constant, jerky motion. Any ideas?
