Unfortunately a female. Based on the mine it seems like it could be different from the others, although it pupated in the same way.

; the puparium was formed within the leaf, on the lower surface, right at the base.

I don't think so
I've never seen
L. eupatorii
switch back and forth between leaf surfaces like this. At least one
Ophiomyia
does that; if that's what it is, the puparium will be in the leaf. Offhand I think the species that is known to do this is only known from Canada.
