Sherbrooke, Quebec, Quebec, Canada

Hello,

Here is a strange fly photographied within my thuya hedge last July in Sherbrooke, Quebec (near Vermont).

I think is is a fly from the Rhagionidae family... Maybe Rhagio sp...

Any idea about its species???

Thank you very much for your always appreciated help!

Michel

Hey Michel,

This appears to be the introduced Rhagio lineola well collected around the Ottawa area. Distinguished by its dorsal triangles on the abdomen and mesonotum hair entirely light coloured. (Though the head/eye colour throws me off a little)

Hope this was helpful!

Michel
