Brown moth with tail fins - Pseudogalleria inimicella

Brown moth with tail fins - Pseudogalleria inimicella
Maplesville, Chilton County, Alabama, USA
May 8, 2018
This was a small moth probably < 1.0 cm in length. He had dark brown rope-like antennae that looked like they arose from a bulge on his head. The oval-shaped area of his thorax was basically devoid of all scales and was dark brown to almost black around the border. Slightly above the middle of his forewings, he had two long vertical indentions that looked like fish, with their heads up and tails being down. On the lateral view, his subterminal line seemed to be a series of brown dots and his terminal line was thin and maroon.
