Posted because none are from Sierras, only the coast range. Sweeping vegetation in moist area beside road. Another collected with this one, the elytra are all golden brown, not patterned with shiny black.

Family characteristic. Tongue-like process on underside of elytra that locks with the dorsal abdominal segment when elytra are completely closed and locked.

Genus characteristics.
Prosternum prolonged, meeting mesosternum and limited on each side by elevated line, divergent anteriorly.
Antennomeres 2-4 very short, together not longer than 5th.
