Hodges #9227 - Pleasant Dagger - Acronicta laetifica

Hodges #9227 - Pleasant Dagger - Acronicta laetifica
Tallahassee, Leon County, Florida, USA
May 13, 2018
Size: Forewing ≈18mm
Attracted to black light late in the evening. On the basis of the forewing pattern and brightness I propose that this is #9227 Acronicta laetifica and rule out the typically much darker #9229 Acronicta hasta that has a similar pattern. It is too small for a #9238 Acronicta lobeliae. Is this enough for an ID?

ID confirmed in BAMONA
Curtis Lehman confirmed the moth's ID in BAMONA. I phootgraphed a second individual in May 2021.

Moved
Moved from Dagger Moths. Aside from the criteria listed in my original comment, I base the ID of this moth on the white orbicular spot and absence of a fourth dash (as postulated on A.lobeliae info page) that is associated with the orbicular on the forewings of the other two species.
