Chlaenius is smaller and more velvety, and also smells reallly bad if picked up! These guys are much more tame in my experience, and make fun pets. Definitely common up in scattered places in northern ME, but not in southern ME

Thank you. That does look far better. I was working from Kaufman and was doubtful I was right. But your ID looks great especially as a New England species.
