Moth with white checks - Adoneta spinuloides - male

Moth with white checks - Adoneta spinuloides - Male
Maplesville, Chilton County, Alabama, USA
April 28, 2018
This was a brown moth that had a yellowish unusual geometric figure on his thorax (top hat?). He had many dark greenish brown vertical streaks that reminded me of old time paneling. He also had small white check marks just above his apices. He was small with a wingspan of about 1 to 1.5 cm and he was difficult to photograph because he would not sit still, waddling endlessly on the porch ceiling. His stop and go movements reminded me of an American Robin.
