Red and Black Bug on New Jersey Tea

Red and Black Bug on New Jersey Tea
Junction City, 15 mi. SE, Geary County, Kansas, USA
May 15, 2018
Size: 1/4-3/8"
This bug was common on New Jersey Tea (Ceanothus americanus) blooming on the tall grass prairie yesterday. I do not find it today! I like its nice size. So much easier to photograph than the tiny black beetles!
