Flat Bark Beetle - Catogenus rufus

Flat Bark Beetle - Catogenus rufus
Bolton, Worcester County, Massachusetts, USA
April 18, 2005
There was a Red Flat Bark Beetle and this one on the same log. This one was half the length, and less than half the width. Also it's paler, and the pronotum looks longer. Is this a different flat bark beetle?

Thanks Mike

Catogenus
C. rufus (Fabricius)

I believe so
Looks like a Passandrid [these were at one time part of the Cucujidae].
