Multicolored moth - Adoneta spinuloides - male

Multicolored moth - Adoneta spinuloides - Male
Maplesville, Chilton County, Alabama, USA
May 9, 2018
This was a multicolored moth that had long fury front legs extended forward, like a tussock moth. He had rope-like antennae that narrowed at the ends and a tuft of brownish scales on his thorax which was one-third the length of his abdomen. He had a vague white band at the median level and a short white subterminal check at the costa, but didn't go all the way to the costa. He had a golden brown fringe that was lighter golden at the anal anal angle.
