California mountains found at night passing through campground, - Ammopelmatus
mountains near San Diego, San Diego County, California, USA
October 16, 2007
Size: 2 -3 inches long
I think it may be some type of cricket, but I have no clue. It has little thin legs that I drew arrows to that were not very visible in the picture.

And those little thin legs
are actually its jointed feet or tarsi.

The one and only...
...Jerusalem Cricket, Stenopelmatus.
