Grass Skipper on Clematis viorna - Lerema accius - female

Grass Skipper on Clematis viorna - Lerema accius - Female
Pee Dee NWR, Ansonville, Anson County, North Carolina, USA
May 25, 2018
Size: 20 mm
I am still a Grass Skipper novice at best. I had a half-dozen or more Zabulon Skippers at this spot yesterday including 2 males on this Clematis. I photographed a number of Zabulon females and all had white faces and white on the apex/leading edge of the hindwing. This skipper stayed on this Clematis blossom for 30 minutes so I have dozens of images. None show a white face or any sign of white on the hindwing.
