Clouded Skipper
I did not mean to question the ID. I am at best a novice and had read this species was "uncommon at best" before July.

Grass Skipper
Clouded Skippers are not expected until July?

If you go to the data page for Lerema accius and scroll down,
you'll see that Bug Guide users have reported this species in NC in just about every month Mar to Nov.

I would say clouded skipper.
