. . . genus "Ctenicera" (in the old fashioned sense, now out of date, it seems).

something close to C.trivittata (erroneously spelled trivittatus in nearctica.com)

 
It certainly could be Ctenice
It certainly could be Ctenicera trivittatus LeConte, 1853 (as spelled in the Harvard Types). The species is distributed throughout the southeastern United States, so that fits. The mid-line dark area so prominent in this picture is vague in the type, but the specimen is old and faded, and of course you have to allow for some variation in the species. I really 't have any better ideas.
