Size: 1/4 inch or less
Note the break in the stripe and the sheen. I know its a beetle, I think it's a firefly but can find no similar image. High Res photos available upon request.

Take a look at...
...Pigweed Flea Beetle (Disonycha glabrata) while waiting on an expert. The black spots on the pronotum vary in this species.

I think you definitely have the Disonycha (which I was WAY off on). Curious to see if that break in the stripe impacts the ID. Had I noticed it WHILE getting the picture I would have attempted a straight above shot.
