Found several of these insects on celery plants in a garden located in a suburban area. I thought they were aphids at first, but upon closer inspection I realized they may be springtails.

These move quickly and readily jump several centimeters when disturbed. The celery plants which harbored them were grown in rotted organic material.

Apologies for the poor quality image but it is the best I could get.

Moved from Garden Springtail.

Bourletiella hortensis

Globular Springtail--Order Symphypleona
They make great food for small insects such as newborn praying mantises. Sorry I can't get it any more specific than that--you'll have to wait for an expert.
