Got the specimen
Had to look at it in sand and tilt head down to see the terminal end of the hypandrium. It was checked out as "median lobe of hypandrium slender, terminating in a single point"

Yes, Amphigerontia ...
The marking on the forewing of A. montivaga and A. bifasciata are very similar. Mockford says cd. eyes of bifasciata male are "moderately large" whereas those of montivaga are "relatively small". I would say this specimen has larger eyes. A look at the hypandrium would clear up the species ID. Do send this one.
