New Hope Fire Station trail leaf miner on Galium uniflorum D970 2018 7 - Mompha annulata
New Hope Fire Station Trail, Duke Forest, Orange County, North Carolina, USA
June 2, 2018
Mompha--I am pretty sure. Two larvae were on this plant, and a pupa (of something) was on another. I hope these are not parasitized!! Mostly otherwise I found damaged leaves, but no actual miners. They were not abundant--I hope that is because the season is just beginning, not because the season is over???

I'm not sure if these have more than one generation (but I have found larvae much later in the season, so probably there are at least two). Make sure you collect some extra unmined foliage, since each larva will need a few leaves to complete development.
