Ant-like Longhorn Beetle - Cyrtophorus verrucosus

The two times I have found this species they were basking in the sun on a tree trunk in April.

Patrick reports his individual as being very active, but mine were not, and calmly sat for their portraits.

Looking at this picture they don't look a lot like ants, but both times I have seen them I first thought they were ants, before I got a closer look.
