Size: Small
These were common in my back yard on the upperside of the lower, covered, leaves of the Hostas. Chased off anything that came within their territory.

If anyone can take this a bit further, I'd appreciate it. If not, feel free to frass.

After searching some more, what does the concensus think of Platypalpus (Hybotidae)? Looks like a better fit than Empididae, to me.
