Appalachian or Smokey Brown? - Lethe appalachia

Appalachian or Smokey Brown? - Lethe appalachia
Pioneer, Campbell County, Tennessee, USA
June 6, 2018
I was able to get a second photo later. This butterfly let me get within a few inches to take multiple photos without flying away. It stayed around this planter for at least an hour. Seeing the second photo, I'm wondering if it could be a Smokey Brown?

Appalachian Brown
The image is a bit back-lit, but I'd go with Appalachian Brown, Lethe appalachia.
