Are you seeing a lot of these now?
I'm surprised at the number in southern California this month. However, checking the Data chart shows that October is a popular month for posting Monarchs, second only to September.

You Might See More Soon
About a week ago, for the three-week period before that, dozens of Monarchs had been congregating in my back yard late in the afternoons. Then, all of a sudden, they left and I haven't seen one since. I guess they're headed your way, out there near Mexico. Be on the lookout for them!
