Aphid on water lily host - Rhopalosiphum nymphaeae

Aphid on water lily host - Rhopalosiphum nymphaeae
Brandeis Univ, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA
October 10, 2017

Moved
Moved from Aphids.

Probably Rhopalosiphum nymphaeae
This is an alatoid nymph, it will be a winged adult. Nymphs are tough to ID, the characters we look for in adult females aren't fully developed, but R. nymphaeae has slightly swollen siphunculi which I think are starting to develop here, and the species is often a little waxy.
