Elipsocus? - Elipsocus hyalinus

Elipsocus? - Elipsocus hyalinus
Stulsaft Park, San Mateo County, California, USA
June 9, 2018
Size: ca 3 mm
Beat from Quercus. I'm having trouble telling Amphigerontia from Elipsocus, though they are in entirely different families. It looks like Elipsocus has this sine-wave shaped R1 (?) that is lacking in Amphigerontia. Both genera seem to have dark spots/patches in the region of M3 or the Cu veins, if I'm interpreting the figures in Borror and Delong correctly...

Moved from Barklice, Booklice, and Parasitic Lice.

Thanks to you and Dr. Mockford!

Dr. Mockford says ...
This is Elipsocus hyalinus (Stephens). The dark head and the dark pterostigma throughout, as well as the size, narrow it down to that species. I assume it is a female, as I have not seen any males from North America.
