Resting on vegetation. This Asilid is a Laphria of sorts? Confirmation, correction, and further placement would be appreciated.

Laphria sp., prob. astur (male). Very nice images -- on difficult to ID specimen! Pleural sclerites blacker-haired than typical for L. astur (anepisternum all black, yellow is normal), but katatergal setae yellow (would be all black in L. sackeni). Yellow setae laterally on basal tergites more typical for astur than sackeni, so former sp. is choice; these two spp. are main Pacific Coast state Laphria with an all yellow scutum, as others (e.g. columbica) are black-haired on anterior half of scutum.
