Size: 3-4 inches in length
We live in the high desert by La Quinta. Found specimen outside house, lethargic and tired, perhaps from flying in the high winds in the area. Tries to defend itself with its jaws.

Longhorn Beetle
This is a Longhorn Beetle in the family Cerambycidae. It is in the subfamily Prioninae and very similar to genus Stenodontes. The larvae are wood borers.
