Derodontid - Derodontus esotericus

Derodontid - Derodontus esotericus
Tippecanoe County, Indiana, USA
October 22, 2007
Size: ~ 3 mm
A Derodontus beetle. Two were in one of my Lindgren funnel traps today. First time I've seen this family. I think this is D. esotericus based on the absence of a large rear-facing pronotal tooth.
