Geometridae - Biston betularia

Geometridae - Biston betularia
Peterborough, Peterborough, Ontario, Canada
August 4, 2017
Found after it's meal of golden hop leaves, striking a pose, realistically simulating a twig. Mostly black, fading into brown patches, tiny white spots, some larger raised spots which I think look like red blood cells. These red spots are most noticeable on the photo of it's butt. Even larger bumps are light brown with black specks, visible again in the butt photo.
Side note: Doesn't this li'l dude look quite sinister? The red bumps and white streaks of it's face make me envision it savagely dueling it's enemies, gladiator-style.
